ALVEARY, LLC (“Alveary”) is a Tennessee limited liability company.
1 · What is licensed
"Content" means the standards published in Vault — their titles, purposes, why-it-matters summaries, procedures, decision points, escalation paths, and leadership commentary — together with the topic index, classifications, and any materials we make available through Alveary OS.
Alveary owns the Content. These terms grant a license to use it. They do not transfer ownership of anything.
2 · Your license
Subject to your plan and to these terms, Alveary grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access, read, search, download where offered, and use the Content in your own professional work and in the operation of the property or organization you work for.
What your plan covers:
Free membership — search across all standards, the full text of the ten Starter Shelf standards, and one premium unlock each calendar month. An unlocked standard stays licensed to you permanently, on any plan, including after a paid plan ends.
Member and Pro — the full text of the standards included in that plan, and watermark-free downloads printed with your name as Licensed User.
Company Vault — the above for the number of people at the property covered by the subscription, plus the governed features described at alvearyos.com/upgrade: your own standards alongside ours, acknowledgment tracking, property overlays, and co-branded downloads. The license extends to the property's employees and contractors while they work there, for that property's operations, and no further.
3 · Licensed User
Downloads carry a Licensed User line naming the person the copy is licensed to. That line is part of the Content. Do not remove, obscure, or alter it.
A Licensed User designation is not a credential. It identifies a person authorized to access and use licensed Alveary content. It is not a professional license, certification, endorsement, or representation that you or your property comply with any law, regulation, or code, or that you have authority to perform any particular act.
4 · What you may do — including adapting our standards
You may read, search, and rely on the Content in your own work. You may print or download copies for yourself and, on a Company Vault subscription, for the covered property's team.
You may adapt. You may use an Alveary standard as the basis for your own property's written procedure — rewriting it for your building, your brand, your systems, and your jurisdiction. That is what the standards are for, and the resulting property procedure is yours.
Two limits on that. The adapted procedure is for internal operational use by the property, not something you may publish, license, or sell as a standards product of your own. And however heavily you adapt, the underlying Content remains ours; adapting a standard does not create a license to the original.
You may quote briefly from a standard, with attribution to Alveary, in internal training and in professional discussion.
5 · What you may not do
You may not: share your account or your access with anyone else; give, sell, sublicense, publish, post, or otherwise make the Content available to anyone outside the license you hold; use the Content to build, market, or operate a competing standards library, SOP product, or training product; scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Content, or use automated means to extract it; use the Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a machine-learning model; remove or alter the Licensed User line, our marks, or any notice; or defeat the controls that separate free content from licensed content.
We apply rate limits and monitor for automated extraction. Downloads carry the Licensed User line partly so that a copy which leaves the license can be traced back to the account it left through.
6 · Jurisdiction, currency, and what the Content is not
Requirements vary. Gaming, employment, alcohol service, food safety, fire and life safety, and financial-control requirements differ by state, municipality, tribal compact, license, and property, and they change. A standard reflecting sound practice in one jurisdiction may be insufficient, or inconsistent with what is required, in another.
The Content is an operational reference. It is not legal, accounting, tax, medical, engineering, gaming-regulatory, alcohol-regulatory, food-safety certification, emergency-response, or other licensed professional advice, and it does not replace applicable law or regulation, regulator guidance, collective bargaining agreements, license conditions, company or property policies, manufacturer instructions, emergency procedures, or review by a qualified professional where such review is required.
Nothing certifies you. No part of the Content certifies, verifies, or attests that you or your property comply with any law, regulation, code, or standard. We do not review your operations and make no representation about them.
Verify before you adopt. You are responsible for reviewing any standard against the requirements applicable to your facts, location, employer or property, license, role, and decision, and for obtaining any required organizational, regulatory, HR, legal, compliance, safety, or professional review before adopting it or training your team to it.
7 · Versions
Every standard carries a version. Standards are maintained on a stated review cadence and change over time. The presence of a standard in Vault is not a representation that it reflects the current state of any law or regulation.
A copy you downloaded is a copy of that version, and it does not update itself. When a standard changes materially, the version in Vault changes and — for standards that carry an acknowledgment — you will be asked to acknowledge the new version.
We record which standards and versions you viewed and acknowledged. The Privacy Notice explains why and for how long.
8 · How long the license lasts
The license lasts while your plan is active, except that:
Permanently unlocked standards stay licensed to you after a plan ends, for your own professional use, on the terms in this document.
Copies you downloaded while licensed may be kept and used internally for the purposes they were downloaded for. You may not distribute them further after your license ends.
Company Vault licenses end when the property's subscription ends. Property overlays and your own standards remain yours; we will make them available for export for a reasonable period.
We may terminate the license if you breach these terms. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you what happened and give you a chance to put it right.
9 · If you think something is wrong
If you believe a standard is inaccurate, out of date, or unsafe for your jurisdiction, tell us at support@alvearyos.com. We would rather hear it than not. Reporting something does not make us liable for it, and we may or may not change the standard.
10 · General
These License Terms are part of the agreement described in the Alveary Terms of Use, and the Terms of Use govern anything not addressed here — including governing law, disputes, disclaimers, and limits on liability, which apply to this document as well.
Where these License Terms and the Terms of Use conflict on a question about the Content, these License Terms govern.
Governing law is Tennessee, as set out in the Terms of Use.
