Respond to elevator entrapments by establishing calm contact with occupants immediately and holding extraction exclusively for trained rescue personnel.
Why This Matters
In an entrapment, panic is the primary hazard and amateur rescue is the secondary one; most entrapment injuries happen during improvised escapes, not the stoppage. Calm voice contact first, trained hands only, is the rule that keeps a stuck car a story instead of a tragedy.
