Why This Matters
The machine room is the one space in the hotel where a stored box of decorations can disable life-safety equipment or feed a fire directly into the hoistway. Access creep starts innocently, a propped door, a borrowed corner, and ends in a code violation or worse. This room belongs to the machinery and the people licensed to touch it.
