Governs the placement and tensioning of the fitted sheet as the first visible layer of the finished bed.
Why This Matters
Every layer above the fitted sheet inherits its flaws: a twisted corner at seven a.m. becomes a lumpy bed by turndown. Guests judge the whole room's cleanliness in the first glance at the bed, and a taut, square first layer is where that judgment is won.
